When moisture builds-up in the attic it affects the underside of the shingle. This can cause shingles to curl up, which can lead to water leaks.
Broken / Missing Shingles
Extreme wind or the removal of snow can cause shingles to be torn or broken. If not repaired immediately, a water leak can develop.
Shingle granulars start to wear off. Large granular loss leads to a bare spots. If you see significant amounts of granules in your gutters, your
roof will likely need repair.
Buckling is a visible distortion (wave) in the horizontal lines of shingles. Poor ventilation and improper decking materials often are the cause for this.
